Correct settings for using the BlueForce APP


ATTENTION ! If you attempted Bluetooth pairing or entered the device/Bluetooth pairing codes, you must delete BlueForce Smart from the device list on your smartphone/tablet and then restart it.


ATTENTION ! If the BlueForce Smart instrument is connected to the PC with the USB cable or with Plug'n Go, it must be disconnected and the instrument restarted.


Apart from these two conditions, set up/verify your device with the following indicators:


  • Check whether the smartphone/tablet operating system is the same as or higher than:
  • iOS: 9.0
  • Android: 5.0


  • Make sure the following settings are active on the device
  • Bluetooth / NFC / Location
  • Network data connection or WI-FI


nb . the stand-by functions must be deactivated

Start the Blueforce Smart APP and then run atest measurementthrough with the instrument. After a few seconds, the parameters and the graphic will be displayed on your smartphone/tablet. When the app waits without displaying anything, read the next section


The BlueForce APP does not receive the measurements sent by the instrument - using the NFC system


  • Carefully review the phone settings given in the previous paragraph
  • For Android devices, it is recommended to clear the browsing history
  • In some cases it is necessary to restart the smartphone/tablet device


If the Bluetooth system is not compatible, it is advisable to use the NFC system that allows you to transmit the last test performed by placing your device on the back of the BlueForce smart instrument, then:


  • Check whether the operating system of the smartphone/tablet:
  • iOS devices : iOS 13.0 or later and iPhone 7 or later devices
  • Android devices : known to me from 5.0 (NB in ​​some cases it is necessary to delete the browsing history)


  • Activate the NFC function in the smartphone/tablet device menu
  • Run onetest measurementwith the instrument, then place your device on the back of the instrument and wait for the prompt / display of the measurement performed (it is not necessary to start the BlueForce APP) .

The instrument does not send the saved measurements to the software - message Err2, Err3


The errors reported on the Blueforce / SpeedForce / BlueForce Smart instrument display indicate a lack of connection to the PC or to the software:


  • Err 3 - Check if the USB cable is properly connected to the PC

  • Err 2 - The connected instrument is not communicating with the software (checkherethe software setting )

  • Turn on the PC, then connect the instrument to the USB cable or to the Plug'n Go device (if included).
  • nb . If possible, always use the same USB socket as the PC.

  • Start the BlueForce software when no pop-ups or warnings appear, the instrument is properly connected and the serial port has been configured automatically (use the SEND function to download the saved measurements, seehere).


  • If you see the warning "Serial port of pinch-force instrument not open" , you need to configure the serial port in the software settings:
  • Check if the instrument is connected with the USB cable or with the Plug'n Go device (if you have one).
  • Open menu File -> Settings -> Serial Port -> Select correct COM
  • Note : If the black dot is already there, click the dot again
  • Exit and re-enter the menu to check the setting (black dot to the left of the COM port).
  • Use the SEND function on the instrument to download the stored measurements, seehere



The instrument does not send the saved measurements to the software with the Plug'n Go device (Bluetooth)


Check if the PC connection mode is set correctly, then go to the File menu -> Settings -> Serial port -> PC connection mode -> Select Plug device.


NB : If you have recently UPGRADE the instrument without having sent the Plug'n Go Bluetooth device, there will be no communication with the software (contact Microtronics to update the Plug'n Go device).



How to perform a test measurement with the device


  • Place the instrument on a surface, turn it on, then use the right button to position yourself on the first free slot [e.g. 1. . . .]


  • Apply strong hand pressure to the head of the instrument, and the reading [1 A] will be taken for 5 seconds. . .] , then saved and sent to the integrated Bluetooth / NFC system at the same time (if you use the BlueForce APP, you can view the test immediately on the smarphone / tablet device)


  • At the end the saved measurement is displayed with the number without points [1]




How to send the measurements stored on the instrument to the software


  • Turn on the PC and then connect the instrument to the USB cable or to the Plug'n Go device (if you have one)


  • Start the BlueForce software and turn on the instrument, then use the left button to go to the FUNC menu, then use the right button to search for the SEND function, then press 2 again Right button for seconds to send the measurements


  • The SEND function flashes to indicate the "Download measurement" function to the software (if the instrument displays the Err2 message, see the "Serial port setting" section)here) .


  • The SEND function sends all measurements stored in the instrument to the software, completely clearing the memory



Software updates and user manuals


  • If you have an older version (e.g. 2.0) it is recommended to contact Microtronics

  • The software for customized instruments of other brands must be requested at: sales@microtronics.it


  • Note : In case the PC needs to be replaced/repaired, it is advisable to make a copy of the data/tests/customer archives in advance, see section “Database Backup”here



The calibration warning has expired, although the device has been calibrated regularly


  • It is necessary to download at least one test in the software to detect the regular calibration date, if the warning persists, check these settings:


  • Verify that the PC date is current and correct

  • If you have more instruments, another delivered model can be configured (see BlueForce software -> Settings menu -> About -> Model ), if different set the exact model.



Backup of saved measurements / customers (database)


In case of reinstallation of the software or to create a backup of the database (which contains customer and test data), it is advisable to make a copy of the database in an external storage:


  • In the BlueForce software, go to the File -> Archive Management -> Path menu, the "Path" shown is the default path where the database is stored (usually in the Documents folder).
  • Click on the path and then select the external drive to save to (e.g. a USB memory)


Afterwards (if it was necessary to install a fresh copy of the BlueForce software), simply copy the content stored in the external memory to the same default path specified in the software in the File -> Archive Management -> Path menu


If you want to use the database from another location, you need to go to the File menu -> Archive Management -> Select Archive and then select the database from the Blueforce folder -> Database



Modification of incorrectly assigned measures


If measurements have been stored on an incorrect closure (or refer to a different standard), they must be transferred to the correct closure as follows:


  • Rename the gate with another name (e.g. Gate Wrong input) via the Edit (right-click) context menu

  • Then create/insert the new closure with the exact name (e.g. entrance gate)

  • From the "Detail" area of the software, drag the (erroneously assigned) measures to the relevant points of the new closure


  • After this operation, it is possible to delete / erase the previous faulty shutter
